Firstly my wishes to fellow forum members. I was recently introduced to this website and it feels good to know that there are so many serious listeners of carnatic music. I hope to contribute as and when time permits in my own capacity. I must apologise for being a little late to this concert because of which I may have missed the first song. The concert was steeped in classism but age seems to have definitely caught up with the Rudrapatnam Bros. and their voice took a while to get tuned, especially the younger of the two. But their Athana and Dhanyasi were vintage while their Vachaspathi evoked memories of Alathur Brothers singing the same song in tandem to the accompaniment of Palghat mani Iyer. MA Sundhareshwaran on the violin provided good support and was flamboyant in his solo sections. Shrimushanm Rajarao exhibited sensitivity in parts and had a good rapport on stage with the Bros. Coimbatore Mohanram followed Shrimushnam Rajarao faithfully throughout. Special mention for the selection and attention to words and diction. Hope to hear many youngsters, seniors and stars this season, and meet a few forum members also. Wishing you all a good december season with melodious music.
