A grand concert, i was little hesitant to attend, thinking what padams he will sing, that too in tamil for whole concert... happy to be proven wrong...

the alapanas were grand, both huseni and begada were bright starts... saveri and kambodhi alapana were detailed, several nadaswara pidis included... the neraval for kambodhi padam was not that great, i think it didn't come out quite well...

there was huge turnout, easily 1000+, and he had them engaged....

In the Q&A session, there was one interesting Q on re-inventing music.... Sanjay cleverly answered saying this question should be put to yogis and phylosophic people... He said, he can;t rediscover any thing in music, there is too many keerthanas to sing, and what to rediscover in 8-beat adi talam or within saptaswaram...

Thanks. Yes. we are going to be severely vigilant against unauthorised publishing of MMU recordings. You have to watch it officially on our website for subscription if you want the full concert. You tube links will not be available for a long while now. And even when it comes it wl be only abridged version of the telecast master. Much shorter than what went on air.

It was actually shocking to read this about asking for a pirated copy of a copyright program, in a public forum.
The facitlity of Internet helps spread music. But it is our responsibility to stay away from Piracy.
My humble request to rasiks: it took us a hell a lot of efforts to put the whole festival in place and unless there is legal contribution and authorised viewing/listening, we will be unable to continue such service to classical music.
We will make the concert available in our website http://www.ragamalikatv.com soon after the broadcast is over. Pl subscribe and watch.

Not that I need to vouch for rshankar as a well respected member of our forum( anyone can know that by following his posts in our forum and the numerous requests where he always asks if he can purchase recordings of programs ), but let me state that I do not think he intended to ask for a pirated copy, but just the opportunity to watch/listen to the program.

Yes, it so happens that Ravi (rshankar) is one of the rasikAs who's not looking for freebies. He buys CDs and tickets happily!

In this instance, because of years of MMU appearing on youtube regularly, rasikAs are assuming that the practise continues. This just goes to show how popular the program is and that rasikAs can't wait to watch/listen to the concerts.

Knowing Ravi (rshankar), I'd say he's the opposite of a typical freebie-monging rasikA

Smt. Subhashree, my intention was not to promote anything underhand....and certainly not create a controversy, or inadvertently cause problems for Sri TVG either. So, please accept my apologies.
Having been spoiled by uploads on YouTube of the MMU concerts, and learning that this years' may not be there was what prompted that request...now that I understnad, I am happy that you do have plans for the benefit of rasikas unable to attend or catch the TV broadcasts for whatever reason.
