No doubt about her Vidwat. The song list is good.I personally like her concerts. She is a slow and steady performer and not for the gallery.

Kanakavela in Sri ragam is a composition of Koteeswara Iyer.

Nice list. One would expect no less from her, and the lineage she represents.
The single highlight of this list, for me, is that she has hazarded the tight-rope walk that is chAyAgauLa, and turned a few kalpitam somersaults while on the rope. It calls for gumption and conviction to try that. In my book this puts the artiste in a class apart from the also-sangs who will (b)elaborate nalinakantis and bindumalinis.
Very heartening to see chAyAgauLa, gAramu and vamsavati all in one list.

vamshavati is the Dikshitar school equivalent of vishvambari (mElakartA 54).

True to her guru's repertoire Sumitra Vasudev revels in rare compositions and ragas. Never a hurried moment or movement in her music. A class apart from the 'performing' masses.

Re: Sumitra Vasudev @ MA, 30/12
I am very much happy in getting these gems into circulation. But she can totally adhere to the raga lakshana as pointed out by Sri Subbarama dikshithar at least while singing his compositions. I was very much disappointed when i heard her saveri (one of the raga in the ragamalika).
