Sorry to hear this news.

An interesting feature about the BV Raman-Lakshmanan duo was in Sruti in October 2005. You can read a bit of it at http://www.sruti.com/Oct05/mfeature.html

Hear their concert at http://www.sangeethapriya.org/Downloads ... vrbvl.html

The duo had a good repertoire of songs of most of the composers. They,in fact, specialised in theme concerts. Sri.B V Lakshman passed away few years. And now
with passing away of B V Raman ,we have lost another important musical gaint in carnatic music.

The sad thing about the duo that they never had been honoured the way they should have been. They had a legion of disciples and their repertoire was quite huge and they sang rare compositions unheard in concert circuits.May their souls rest in peace
