Nirantharam run by Vid. Pustakam Rama and team have a weeklong festival of dance and music in Sevasadan, Malleswaram. The auditorium seats have been upgraded and the acoustics were well done today for the concert of Ramakrishnan Murthy, accompanied by HK Venkatram, Arjun Kumar and Vyasa Vittal.

RKM did some great sancharas in the alapanas. His voice was firm and beautiful and well modulated. His swaras were resplendent. I liked his Vagadheeshwari especially his staying for long on the upper notes. Please listen to it on the video and tell me.
His shloka was also very good.
I liked HKV's accompaniment very much. He was tuneful and solid.
Arjun Kumar was his usual vigorous self. Vittal lent active accompaniment on the khanjira.
A great start to my 2015 musical journeys. Thanks RKM!
