It is a pleasure to listen to her talk, read her views as to see her dance.

Re: Interview with Padma Subra Subrahmaniam
I attended Padma's performance. Dr Pappu Venugopala Rao heaped praise on her after her performance. The day being Thyagaraja Aradhana, her student and Drishti director Anuradha Vikranth danced to "Sadhinchene". It was superb choreography (Padma's). Afterwards Padma's grand niece and student Mahathi danced beautifully to a lovely song on Krishna, another choreographically A1 piece. Then Padma took the stage and danced to Dharini telisukonti. She was compact, precise, highly expressive and did full justice to the item. Then she did Brahmam Okate in honour of Dr Pappu. This Annamayya song is pregnant with meaning.
Whatever award is conferred on her, is only a fair acknowledgement of a superstar master. She is an institution in herself. Most may feel either a surprise or even a touch of distaste for her exaggerated theatrics. But for me she has understood and developed a complete dance form with exquisite grace, wonderful exploration of space, and a rich triple sundae of Bhava, Raga, Tala.
For those who wish to watch her dance, this DD documentary will give some beautiful moments :

Re: Interview with Padma Subrahmaniam
"It doesn’t matter if you are part of a crowd. Dance is not just about name and fame but about atma tripti . It’s not just the spectator’s enjoyment, but also about your own. Dance is also about an inward journey, which should be the ultimate aim. But that takes time."
Dance is the ultimate of art forms as defined in Tamil literature. It cannot but influence one's personality and drive one towards perfection. I liked these words.
