" Prior to her taking charge of conducting the Thyagaraja aradhana, several splinter groups (like Peria katchi and Chinna Katchi) were celebrating Thyagaraja aradhanas all over Tiruvaiyaru and neighboring villages. Bangalore Nagarathnamma combined all these groups into a single entity. The aradhana is celebrated on Pushya bahula Panchami (in the month of January) on the premises of the Thyagaraja samadhi. This has become a national event of major importance. But for the tireless work of Bangalore Nagarathnamma, such organized effort to celebrate Thyagaraja aradhana in Thiruvaiyaru on such a grand scale would be impossible."

gandharva kulamulO janinci

nIyokka bhakti niyokka prEma
niNDina Aradhana utsavAlu

Anandamondu bhAgyurAlA - mA

O Gem of a woman Nagaratnamma;
Kindly accept my salutations;

Having born in the lineage of Gandharva;
One who has sought refuge in Thyagaraja - Ocean of Music;

Knowledge of music without true devotion;
Will not lead to the Righteous path - the one who said;
Having accepted his words as True;
Having dedicated everything (to Him) - His;
Who hath become extoller - who is equal to You?

Your devotion and Your Love;
Brimming Aradhana celebrations;
Today in the hands selfish people;
Has become a laughing stock; that
Days' condition will it come back - O Mother?

In His holy presence ever abiding;
Bliss attaining fortunate one; Our
Desire to fulfil and to grace us;
By telling Him kindly favour us; musical
Nectarine rain may you make it shower again.

I am told that the temple is devoid of funds and unable to meet the expenses for daily pooja and I am also pained..
