It was a nice concert. I went to specially hear the Guru accompany the shishya (Ramakrishna Murthy is a student of RKSK now) and there was understandably good rapport and encouragement. The percussion accompaniment was good too. Amba nilyatakashi was in very slow tempo, soothing. The main alapana, kriti and neraval were grand and sung well. The sloka and ragamalika rendering of the several charanas of the purandara dasa composition was very pleasing. Nice to hear him sing all the charanas of the mangalam.
