It is raining music in Bangalore

Post by kssr »

January and February seem to be rainy season in Bengaluru :) Musical rain, of course.
January Sankaranthi festival of Sree Rama Lalitha kala Mandira.
February spring festival of senior artists by SRLKM now underway.
Feb, I understand from rasikas that there was also indiranagar sabha season concerts.
Feb, Saamagana sabha, brief grand festival featuring Aruna Sairam.(last year Dr.bmk :o ). it featured a fantastic purandaradasara programme by Smt.Vani Sateesh which was telecast live on Sunday morning.
Feb, two day Ranjani fine arts festival of CM and HM 14-15?
January, BTM sabha sapthaha
Feb, visesha fine arts 13-15th , several concerts incl Sri.ost, mys bros, etc.,
Nadasurabhi four day event 19-22nd feb fest 2015.
Karnataka college of percussion annual festival featuring Sri.ost, sri.trichy Sankaran and several others.

Dear rasikas, we indeed are agonised. The agony of choice !!!

Sunday morning had mysore bros ganesh kumaresh playing thyagaraja symphony.

Last saturday.. ustad abdul rashid khanji sang at alliance francaise. He is 107 years of age. The energy and the awareness is as youthful as a teenager. He sang for more than a hour. And had a QA round for half hour. such lovely music. he did trouble the tabla player more than once with his laya.

@ KSSR,
Is there a way KFA can co-ordinate the scheduling of this ... so that te overlap can be minimised and audience can thong all the locations one after the other ?

Few years back sporadically i have mentioned that if you discount Nov Dec, looks bangalore has more concerts than chennai . Looks that is surely becoming more and more a definite fact. Today there is four bharathanatyam events and one thamizh drama in chennai, but no Carnatic Music concert in chennai.

Bangaloreans say one must keep the entire afternoon free to reach any concert venue in time if it is located more than 8-10 k.m. away.
Traffic, traffic everywhere but not a vehicle moves, laments one!
And if it's raining too?!

It is better not to coordinate the events.Mostly people will attend the one that is feasible.By coordinating you cannot increase the number of people attending concerts.Based on the personal preference of rasikas and venue convenience,we decide to attend or not.It would be practically impossible to attend each and every concert even if the concerts are coordinated and held.
