Dr.Sreevalsan Menon is a disciple of late Sri. Neyyattinkara Vasudevan. Dr.Menon is an A Grade artist of AIR. He has given concerts and lecture demonstrations on carnatic music in India, Middle East, UK, USA, Canada and Africa. He is a recipient of Kerala Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2013. He has won several awards from prestigious organisations like the Music Academy and Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. Dr.Menon has also participated in jugalbandhis and western fusion themes with great success.

Smt.Charulatha is a leading carnatic violinist and a highly acclaimed accompanying artist. Sri.RSR Srikanth is a disciple of Umayalpuram Sri Sivaraman and Srimushnam Sri. Raja Rao. He is an A Grade mridangam artist of AIR. Sri.Narayanamurthy is a senior much sought after ghatam vidwan in Bangalore.

Very crisp enjoyable concert. None of the items was taken up for too detailed an elaboration. It helped in bringing out the essence of each kriti/ragam. Accompanying team was excellent. Charulatha was brilliant as usual. Srikanth was exceptionally good in following the main artist. Narayanamurthy gave good support.

Historically Sreevalsan Menon Sings once a year in academy(thank god i went to his 2014 dec concert) and he usually gets invited by nadopasana sabha by nadopasana sreenivasan .Sreevalsan Menon draws a blank in rest of chennai.Nice to see bangalore inviting him. Unfortunately ,I can only run my imagination, that lalita with a neraval and in general four neravals must have been just awesome. I have tasted his usual pancha ratna krithi where he has a style of going for a neraval too . Lalita and vasantha can be avoidable in the same concert , but for his melodious treatment it may have been joy - I personally love this two ragas.

Let Dr menon find his way bit more often from bangalore to chennai , just like few musicians who seldom find a way to bangalore from chennai.

I have had opportunity to listen to him both in Chennai and Bangalore. 2013 Season Music academy- Paid concert. Previously, in another sabha in Chennai itself. If not mistaken, he was accompanied by Sri. Umayalpuram and as usual overshadowed.

The best concert of Dr.Menon was about 4 years back in BTM cultural academy, where he presented a thematic concert on Dikshitar kritis. He gave the background stories and covered the whole range of MD's genius incl several NOTES in sankarabharanam. Mysore Nagaraj was on violin who met him half way in whatever he was presenting. Amazing combination and absolutely memorable.

Rightly said Kssr.I heard hear in Chennai from a leading ghatam artist that none of the front line musicians want UKS because of his unnecessary bossing and indulgence and of course overshadowing.

During Dec season i attended violin duet concert of GJR Krisnan and Viji accompanied by U K Sivaraman and G Udupa.The accompaniments of Mridangam and Ghatam were so sweet and smooth.There was absolutely no domination by Sri UKS.
