AWESOME! Beautiful conceptualization and presentation. The children are amazing, and what's even better is their obvious enjoyment and on-stage camraderie ...
Best wishes to the team!

Quite nice and well done by the kids. The violinist Rishab is a disciple of our Akellaji

As I wrote my comment on the Facebook,MS Amma would have been thrilled to hear this composiion--the choice of ragas especially Nagaswarali was good and the singers did an excellent job. Would like to know their names and their teachers names--noted that OUR(how possessive I am!!!) Akellaji is one of them''Akellaji Kudos to you!! As the Yanks say "YOU CAN WALK THE TALK"--meaning you not only preach but practice what you preach!!

Dr.HN--Great tunesmithship--I am sure you have composed many such tunes--WHY NOT AIR THEM?

Mahavishbu, yep indeed.

The mridangist to our left Arjun Ramachandran is a disciple of Tiruvarur Vaidyanathan.

Here is the info from the Facebook page along with the performers' names

Popularized by MS Subbulakshmi, 'Bruhi Mukundethi' is a Sadashiva Brahmendra composition. 2013 IndianRaga Fellow Harsha Nagarajan set it to a ragamalika in ragams Kurinji, Kapi, Nagaswarali, and Hamsanandi, in this unique interpretation. The piece is preceded by a Thani Avarthanam to showcase the brilliance of our young mridangists.

Performed at IndianRaga Chicago Labs, February 2015 by:

Aparajitha Adiraju (Vocal)
Varshini Iyer (Vocal)
Vishvak Kumaran (Mridangam)
Arjun Ramachandran (Mridangam)
Rishabh Ranganathan (Violin)

Dear brother-member, Ramasubramanian M.K,

Thank you for your kind appreciation. In this respect while 50% of the credit goes to Chi.Rishabh Ranganathan, 30% goes to his father, Chi. Ranganathan and only less than 20% is mine as this has been proved as a flawless system of learning our music on Violin hardly within two years of duration. amsharma
