GM,
A stout heart and an astute click will help you move to the download without registering. Just look at the bottom of the screen.
Dropbox promises that one can share links with others even if they don't have or don't want a Dropbox account. A case of Net Neutrality I suppose! But they waylay you into signing up if you're not too careful! See the screen shot below taken on my mobile:

Saama?..
- unless durga allows ga as an anya swara.. - no idea if that is ever done

Another thread discusses mishra rAgAs and wonders how much of it we find in CM? I don't know, but many of the film songs that are very appealing to us ARE in mishra rAgAs, perhaps?

Chatting with Mr Nageswaran today, I was told Madurai GS Mani says it is Sama.
I think the Ga is too subtle for it to totally reflect Sama. Surely a Misra application!

Yes.. it's very brief and subtle, it does seem as though the ga is treated more as an anya swara, but only in the downward flow as in saama, and I certainly was reminded of the misra thread I had just seen.. is there a tradition of slipping a ga into durga?

Dear Rasikas,
Thank you for your responses.
Sri G.S.Mani had informed me that the raga for the song is sama.
Sri G.S.MANI,who had a very good knowledge in carnatic music, Hindustani music and had a long association
with the tinsel world and worked with many music composers, I feel his identification of the ragam as sama
is correct.

Here's the Youtube link for the "brindavanamum" song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJt3ePkP1pg
This always used to remind me of one of my favorites "duniyaa rang rangila baba" ( the Pankaj Mullik composed classic).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-Ne5sFSv10
Are the two tunes the same? Can someone clarify?

There's a Hindi version of this song from the Hindi movie, Miss Mary (a remake of missiammA) - here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTvZuQ2-bYk
