All in all a fabulous concert by Malladi brothers who never disappoint the rasikas in a concert. I have been listening to them for the last 2 decades, and there is something new and refreshing in every concert that they perform. Only recently I listened to them at Cleveland (via a webcast ofcourse) where it was understandably a concert full of Tyagaraja Krithis bieng his festival. Here we are treated to a variety of composers and I am fortunate to have listened to a rare piece in Shuddh Saveri in "Lakshnamulu Gala Sreeramuniki" which I never heard before. Embar Kannan supported well and Neyveli Sir literally made it look as if he was making mridangam sing. Being a colloborative effort between ICMDS, SIFAA and Hindu Bhavan there was a mix of audience (North and south Indian) and they all stayed right through the 2 hr 45 min. concert. WHen I mentioned that to the elder brother Sriram garu, he said it was because of the greatness of the carnatic music. Humble comment from a great vidwan.

Thanks Hamirkalyani for the review. Sounds like a great concert indeed.
Tanayuni brova is a great composition, I have heard that in an MLV concert recording.
Bhairavi seems to be in the air with Sanjay, Abhishek and Malladi Bros indulging in it during the same weekend. Nice.

'Lakshnamulu Gala Sreeramuniki' is rare indeed. Abhishek sang that in Chicago and that is the first time I heard that krithi. After that I found one by TRS on youtube. It definitely imparts a different vibe of suddha saveri compared to say, 'dAriNi telusukonti...'

Thanks HK for the nice review. Heard that it was a full house at Raleigh with about 450-500 in attendance. Like VK said Bhairavi seems to be the favorite these days. I was planning to attend their Columbus Concert on Friday but wasn't able to due to a last minute schedule conflict.Hope someone posts a review soon. The brothers had 4 days off before the concert and were very much looking forward to this weekend concerts at Columbus, DC & NJ.
