A good high energy concert throughout... A good combination of percussionists made this a memorable concert.
One can certainly imagine the high class of the concert when the accompanying artists ask for some of their favourite pieces to be performed by the Violinist duo !!

Very thoughtful of them to have performed LGJ's tillana. It was exactly two years ago that the Maestro passed on.

Over the years, the energy in their music has become a bit too much, compromising on other aspects - if you compare their music to say 20-25 years back.

Carnatic musicians are in my opinion no different from film stars. They get typecast, they age and then try extra hard to conform to their image and hold on to their fan following.
Their best years are always when they were "coming up".
I have heard the Mysore brothers deliver pristine classical music even recently - I feel they play what goes with the audience.
Hear their concert in Parvathi...

It was a very high energy concert, but very much liked by the general audience. The Volume was on the high side - at least 25% could have been reduced.
Apri 22 being LGJ second death anniversary,it was a great tribute to the legend when they played the tillana. In most of the recent concerts, volume is on the higher side.Good selection of songs with popular listener's requests.I could see a number of young students learning violin sitting in the concert.
