We have been disappointed with the lack of support to the Nagasvaram artists concerts. Vani Kala Kendra -Sri Ramanavami Sangeeta Utsav-2014 has scheduled concert of very senior vidwan Tirupathi V.Satyanarayan and Vid.Kalva M.V.Subbaramaiah - Nagasvara accompanied by Vid.Srilanka V.S. Srikanth and Vid.Kadapa Ramasubbiah- Tavil on Monday, 20th April, 2015-6.30 p.m.

Please extend your total support by attending the concert in full strength of membership. Full House will motivate the event managers to offer regular and more opportunities to the truly practitioners of this art and the instrument.

I will be happy to know in advance, Bengaluru forumites who will be attending this concert.

I will be happy to know who have planned to attend the nagasvaram concert to-day.
Can we meet at 5.30p.m. at the gate of the venue and have short exchange meeting over a cup of coffee at the nearest darshani hotel and come back to the venue at 6.15 p.m.?

Why are you surprised?

All the poseurs on this forum are feeling the throat of the tup-tup artist to determine where he might have hidden a Nagaswaram to produce their favourite Nagaswaram pidis.

They have no time to listen to real Nagaswaram music.

In Chennai, towards the end of Brahma Gana Sabha's annual Nagaswaram & Tavil Festival, they had brought in a team of Sri Lankan artists of extraordinary merit. The buzz after the concert was palpable and there was talk of having an all-Lankan Nagaswaram festival for a week. It will have to be held in Jaffna, and not in Chennai if the money is not to be wasted.

I fully expect that in a decade any Nagaswaram festival will be held in Toronto, London or Jaffna.

Harimau Sir,

I fully agree with your observation that US of A, Europe and Australia will be the venues in the near future. Wherever the Hindu temples are going to be built overseas, the Nagasvaram artists will be contracted and they will make a decent living rather than live in penury in South India.
