A vibrant and energy filled concert by Sandeep and team. This was Sandeep's first concert in Sydney. 20 years prior, Sandeep's guru Sanjay Subrahmanyam performed for the first time in Sydney in Pallavi's inaugural year.

The highlight of Sandeep's concert was an in depth exposition of Kambhoji rounded off with a detailed neraval at 'bhu loka' followed by 'Madurai Mani-esq' kalpana svaram. He has a pleasant voice which has a lot of strength and energy. Vittal Ramamurthy was at his melodious best and received rapturous applause for his behAg svaram. The percussion team of Melbourne-based Balasri and Trichy Murali lifted the concert with their rhythmic verve.

Good to hear that Sandeep gave a very good performance there. Hoping that all his concerts down under are well-attended and appreciated

I did not realize that Trichy Murali lives in Australia now...

Arasi: If I am parsing it correctly, I think Mohan meant the qualifier "Melbourne-based" only for Balasri. Or I too would be very surprised to learn that Trichy Murali has moved to Oz.

Mohan, thanks for your report on this concert. I think Sandeep is blossoming into an excellent performer.

Correct, Trichy Murali is still lives in Chennai.

On a side note, after Sandeep's concert in Sydney we had three days of torrential rain and flooding! Things are getting back to normal now.
