I request translation of the following son of G.N. Balasubramaniam. It is sung by Sanjay Subrahmanyam for December Season 2013 Kutcheri. I searched the archive and found the lyrics elsewhere, and there was a link to chennai online for the meaning although following the link did not get me anything resembling an archive for translated classical songs.
Also, what language is this in? Is it Tamil or manipravala? At least some of the words look Tamil to me.

Re: Translation of GNB's "unnaDiyE gati"
This is a composition in Tamil (thamizh). I will try to convey the gist of it in English.
Pallavi
Oh Mother (tAyE) I approached your feet as only refuge, Don't you know? ruler of the world (ulaga nAyakiyE)
anupallavi
I went after Gold (pon), fame (pugazh) and women( poovayar), became small minded and turned very desperate every day
charaNam
I had already told you that I won't forget your golden feet, come what may
Oh lightning like creeper that you are (minnal koDiyALE), who is embraced by the one who wears a snake as ornament ( Shiva)(pannaga bhUshanan)
please remove my impediments/ problems. (innalgaL tIrpAyE)
Corrections/comments welcome

Beautiful!
By the way, please note the correction in the anupallavi - it is not bhUvaiyar, but pUvaiyar as Sri Sundara Rajan has given.

As pannaga bhUshaNan is Siva, and the kRti is a plea to the one who embraces him, ergo, it is on pArvati.
