WHY LOUNGE THREAD ONLY FOR REGISTERED MEMBERS
Dear Administers,
The lounge thread is mostly used for light banters like idly, sambar, banana leaves etc and for miscellaneous information.
What is the necessity for logging by registered members only ???.
I feel that the lounge thread should be open to all members.

member = registered member, so I guess it is open to all "members."
Many forums have an area where light, off-topic, or even heavy and controversial subjects are discussed among members only.

In order to log into the web site, that is to be able to post replies or new topics, one has to simply register, if I am not mistaken. This applies to the lounge as well.

I guess Mr Nageswaran is saying that some or most of the rasikas.org content is accessible via an Url even without login but the lounge is not accessible without login. Perhaps we need to see what is the reason a detailed discussion in another section is openly accessible whereas the lounge discussion on say a pilgrimage or some photos is out of bounds without login. That's all.

Re: WHY LOUNGE THREAD ONLY FOR REGISTERED MEMBERS
Ah, yes...
Well, it is available to registered members only because it is not a public part of the forum.
But, as anybody can register, it isn't exactly very private
There is a reasoning behind this which is common among specialist-subject forums: members are expected to join because they have an interest in that subject. Having joined, then a lounge is available to them as a courtesy, to discuss other things, but they are not there to attract people who have not come through the interest in the specialist subject.
Is it a problem?

Dear Rasikas,
Even if you are not logging in, you can view and read the contents in any threads except the thread lounge.
Only if you want to post your comments in any threads, you have to log in.
But you won't see the Lounge thread at all if you are not logging in.
If the subjects covered in the lounge thread are to be seen by the registered members are very important, it is OK.
But the subjects covered in the lounge thread are misc only.
Why then the lounge thread may be made open as other threads???.

Re: WHY LOUNGE THREAD ONLY FOR REGISTERED MEMBERS
Dear Sri Nageswaran - The lounge is not visible for the public because I don't want to attract people to register on rasikas.org just to chat about those (non-music related) topics.
