Vanitha, thank you for sharing the YouTube clip from the Cleveland competition. Sanjay is surely mature in his approach to music! He has a strong bowing technique like the TNK school, especially the modulation of notes. He is also a quick learner. His Yadukula Kambhoji and Keeravani had vishranti.

I wish him very productive learning years and many happy years of music!

You say a lot of sensible things. But this one is ramamantra-esque. Not befitting you

Suresh, it looks like you do hold a different opinion than I on this. That is of course perfectly fine, and I would not hold that against you ;) It was more a throw away comment in this context, so it definitely would have been prudent on my part to refrain from writing that. But I do have reasons to believe what I wrote. We will pick up on that in a different thread if and when that comes up.

Congrats to Sanjay and his parents!!I think enough has been said on this topic, including the rants of ramamantra!!!

Now a little foray into frivolity.

The topic of this thread is Key to Success.

WHEN I FINALLY FOUND MY "KEY" TO SUCCESS I FOUND SOMEBODY HAD CHANGED THE "LOCKS"!!!

On second thoughts, you may have a valid point there. Will try and introspect - thanks for that.

For those wanting to know the meaning of Varsha's shared track, it is a song saying God's grace has opened the inner door and the devotee has unlocked his heart with love, becoming indifferent to worldly goings-on around him. Dasara pada by Vijaya Dasa sung by RK Srikantan and disciples in Sunadavinodini.

I find it amusing when ppl like Rsachi like Ramamantra's post commenting on the whole exercise as promotional material and congratulating the father of the kid as well. I think they have a saying in Tamil for that: Kozhandaiyum killi vidaradu; thotullayum attaradu or vice versa.

Thaaye,
I liked Ramamantra's take on the first post. The context was discussed by Rajesh and Varsha. The youtube clip, posted on my request, served to clear the context a lot better. That is when I congratulated the mother. Maybe you had all this background even before, but I didn't.
Thaaye, you should come up with a "Thank You" in Tamizh. That would be nice! :)

Bluetooth enabling MKR's quote: As one strives to obtain that key, be aware they may have changed to a keyless entry.

Sirs, the current wisdom around here is that you goldplate that key, sell it on OLX or Quikr as that missing key to the fabled treasure chest in Padmanabhaswami temple in TVM, and migrate with the goodies to Canada.

Sri Govindan: Just happened to access your blog!! What a treasure trove!!!Hats off to Rasikas like you,Vasanthakokilam et al for your contributions to the forum.I particularly liked VK,ARASI's rejoinder to Ramamantra's needlessly-harsh comment about the young lad from Wisconsin !! Whoops!!! I now may have inadvertently "yanked his chain!!
I have to brace myself for the inevitable verbal fusillade!!!

Sounds to me more like "Chameleon" in Tamil although I don't know the word for it in the language.

Thaaye,
Let me tell you, if such a post is made by a 11 year old again, I will react the same way.

If such a YouTube clip is posted again, I will react the same way.
Call me a chameleon. No problem :)

I have NO agenda to support anyone or decry anyone for my own gain. Try me!

thaaye,

This is an unnecessary attack even after Sri Sachi clarified his position - please rescind your post.

Chameleon belongs to lizard family which is one of oldest surviving species - they hold the key to success.

More importantly, our discussions on any topic - or almost any - goes something like human dream sequence - playing antAkshari - the last bit of the current scene becoming the seed for the next scene. Is waking life showing the mirror to dream life or are we living dream lives in waking life? This post is also another antAkshari. Coming to think of it, the events of World seems to be driven in this manner only - no deliberation but hopping from one crisis to another - each one the consequence of the earlier.
