Svanubhava fest in Chennai 24-hour long event this year

The annual Svanubhava fest, a fest designed and curated by youngsters, mostly in the performing arts world and meant for youngsters who are learning music, dance or any form of art is back again in Chennai and will be held at Kalakshetra campus.
This year, the fest runs continuously for 24 hours from Aug.7 midnight.
It will start at midnight with a Melattur Bhagavata Mela performance and have other events like namasankeertanam and nagaswaram, ending the early morning session with prayers in the outdoor.
Later, performances will follow.
Flutist J B Sruti Sagar and team presents a venu-vina-violin concert, dancer Jayanthi Subramaniam and team present their production Jyotirgamaye based on a work of Jonathan Livingston Seagull: there is also a saxophone concert by Kadri Gopalnath followed by a Kathakali recital.
These shows run from 9 am to about 1.30 pm.
From 3.30 pm to about 6.30pm are a series of workshops to be held at various campus venues. Photography by C P Satyajit, dance by Prof. C V Chandrasekar, percussion music by Guruvayur Dorai, theatre by Evam group of Chennai and art by senior artist A V Ilango.
At 7.30 pm is a Carnatic music concert by Gayatri Venkataraghavan and at 10pm, a two-hour long Kathak recital by the famed Aditi Mangaldass and group.
The fest is open to all but especially encourages to have youths here.
There are plans to webcast the main shows.
Svanubhava was ideated and guided by vocalist T M Krishna and is now carried forward by a young group. It has also held fests in Bangalore and in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
