Sikkil C. Gurucharan is among the foremost young performing musicians of Carnatic music in India today. He is the grandson of Sikkil Kunjumani, of the famous Sikkil Sisters. He is an 'A' grade All India Radio artist. Gurucharan has performed extensively in India and abroad, and also won numerous awards and titles including Isai PeroLi, Yuva kala bharathi, Isai chudar and Naada oLi. Also, Sikkil Gurucharan and pianist Anil Srinivasan, have brought together the Carnatic vocal music and classical piano to create a new music format which has been well received. Senior artists from Bangalore, Sri.Venkatram, Sri.Arjun Kumar and Sri.Giridhar Udupa will be accompanying Sikkil Gurucharan in this concert.

August Programme: Nadasurabhi will hold its Annual Karnataka Vaibhava Festival on the 15th and 16th August 2015, featuring talented young musicians from Karnataka.

Very good concert.
Thani was too long (around 30 minutes)
But Gurucharan still sang a short and good pallavi.

Crowd nearly became unmanageable, even before the concert commenced. It stayed so for about 2.5 hours. Eased only after 7 PM.

Due to this and time taken for mike arrangement concert started around 20 minutes late. More than compensated, as it went on for more than 3 hours.

Very good programme.

I think Sikkil is singing again at Unnati in August.
