Please confirm items 2,3,4. They were not familiar to me, I searched based on the ragas and I narrowed down the compositions by the cadences of these songs, which fit only fit the lyrics of these and none others. My first time listening to a solo by Nagai Sriram, and I was astounded. His violin has a human voice and truly enunciates well!! I loved his Tanarupi piece.. his alapana and playing offered the raga a beautiful personality and the song itself came alive under his fingers.

I had only wondered about the differences between Gamanashrama and Purvikalyani, and he made it quite perceptible that the song was going to be in Gamanashrama and not Purvikalyani.

The final piece was strange, the taala was strange, it had beats that went Taka Takita, Takita, Taka Takita, Taka, Taka, Taka, Taka and I have no idea where exactly the eduppu was.. As it went it sounded like 5 Taka together, and his eduppu seemed somewhere in the middle, my guess was as I have written it. It just occurred to me that it could have been a Tiruppugazh piece. I believe they all made adjustments as they went along.

This concert was quite a bliss. The selection of krithis and more than anything sticking to class-ism and tradition without going into gimmicks that can be adopted in an instrumental concert was quite commendable.

I wish he gets more chances to play solos. I will attending for sure!

Thank you, this song did not come to mind.. I thought it was gamanashrama, which was a mistake. Will listen again.
