Had been to this concert with a lot of anticipation in my mind.
It was overall a satisfying concert.
Adithya began his concert with a brisk Khamas Pada Varnam (Mathe) by Harikesanallur Sri Muthiah Bhagavathar. Followed by parameshwara jagadeeshwara in Nattai a composition of (MD?). The sub central item of the day was Anudinamu in Begada. He justified the ragam to a great extent possible. Neraval singing is becoming very strong these days in youngsters. I attended Sri Aravind's Concert on 16th, he sang a brilliant neraval and again Adithya has also mastered the art of neraval. Followed by good N,S in begada, he proceeded with a fast paced Mandari before he settled down for the main. A good karaharapriya with great vistharam. Pakkala Nibadi, a thyagaraja swami master piece was the main. Mansuna was the place for neraval.. To my surprise there were no swarams. I can see a lot of influence of Sri TMK in Adithya's singing. Hope it helps him in a good way and takes him to places.
I believe there are people in the yesteryears who have sung neraval alone in a concert. Nevertheless this was a concert of good standard. I had to leave at this point of time and could not listen more.
Shraddha Ravindran on the violin was not that pleasing. L Subramaniam played his part not to make the main singer feel lost.
