It is very nice, what else can one say about Khamaj rendered by four future greats who were already excellent? But the original Desh is much more touching. It is the perfect konjifying raga for the adoring thoughts in the lyrics.. The touching, delicate smile in Suhasineem and the admiration in Sumadhurabhashineem, the poet being wowed by the bounty and elegance of the beloved country, all come out better in Desh, which is sung from the heart. The Khamaj came from the musical mind, not from the heart.
