Sri Chakra Raja Simhasaneswari

Post by Aditto »

Dear Rasika Members,

I have listened to Sree Chakra Raja Simhasaneswari by Maharajapuram. I have read that this composition is by Sage Agasthya.

My question is did sage Agasthya compose this song in ragamalika? (This might sound dumb but was just curious). If not, who is the composer of this song?

The other questions is, the first charanam is sanskrit and the other two in tamizh. Any idea on this?

Pallavi and Anupallavi are salutations (in Sanskrit).
The song (in three Charanams) is in Tamil.

Thanks. But when it comes to the tamizh that is used, it is colloquial tamil which every one could understand. But, when it comes to Naadi Jyotishyam (Agasthya's), the kind of tamizh in it is not easily understood. Why this difference?
