Today we begin the 100th year of MS amma who lives in our hearts as a great human being.
Fittingly, her great grand daughter (may she also become great) will sing in Chennai today. It is nice that it is being webcast and all can listen.

There is a rare montage of MS receiving the galaxy of great honors and awards - from the Padma Bhushan the first year it was created) followed by a glimpse of MS meeting Helen Keller, the Padma Vibhushan, Sangita Kalanidhi, Kalidas Samman, Magsaysay Award and the Bharat Ratna; also MS receiving a honorary doctorate. Then you can see MS in her eighties, doing Pooja and singing surrounded by family members at home; the gentleman putting tanpura to her left is Shri Kadayanallur Venkatraman who composed the tune for so many melodious kritis such as Shriman Narayana, Nee Namame(featured in the documentary), Ko Va Rago and its lilting chitta swaram, as well as the renowned Bhavayami Gopala Balam and Kurai Onrum Illai
