Dushyanth Sridhar, (DS) prodigy and well versed in discourses, (Abhishek raguram to CM, DS for discourse) was giving a discourse, after SGC’s concert, on AnnamayyA. He made few interesting comments on the recent deluge in Chennai.
“Sufferings only wash away our sins. Prarabhdha karma is there for every one which is a known fact. These sufferings would make a person more perfect in life.
In this situation, utter despair, rasikas come to listen to “bhagavan nAmA, which is called “Bhagavan lAbhArthi”. One second, we forget while listening to “bhagavan nAmA” which will never happen in any other situation. So believe in Achuthan, which means “kai nazuvudhal illadavan” which means Who never betrays. “

Coming back to SGC, another evening filled with soothing and sedate atmosphere, his keeravani surely won the accolades of rasikas.

Interesting he started giving the sketch of the rAgams from surutti to kApi and started the kriti from kApi and took it back to Surutti.

SGC started the concert thanking the rasikas for having come despite chennai’s assault. Afternoon session, a sedate vocal concert by SGC was so soothing.

HNB always fits perfectly to the music whether it is Ranjani & Gayathri or SGC or TVS.

Patri is ….. rain maegam or may not come. Patri is there to wake you up from your worries.. His Tani with PSP was very good. Some of his mild shot, tabEla like sounds for kamAs and in Tani was interesting.

Reasonable crowd enjoyed every bit of SGC’s concert. He delivers a perfect combo-pack of CM. A neat sub-main, a strong main interluded by interesting kritis.

Keeravani – just finished from Sanjay’s terrific performance. I thought he would sing ‘vAnanai” or “punniyam oru kOti”. – Thyagarajar kriti is ok at anytime.

Sadly, he also started keeping tab and sing the kritis referring the gadget. Even teruvil vArAno, he missed the end of the second saraNam and repeated the first saraNam end in second also.
“dEsika ambala vANan natam puri dEvadhi dEvan chidambara Nathan” was the end of first saraNam.

I thought this is “NandanAr’s yearning” for Nataraja. Then I realized Muthu thAndavar’s kriti not GKB.
