After previous day’s AbhishEk ragurAm’s buffet concert, I wanted to have “sukku kashAyam”. So Malladi Brothers !!

Rarely do you get Guru Karaikudi accompanying artists. Malladi brothers along with GKM were always in my wish list.

MBs presented RTP, pallavi of which is –

“Pancha bhoota shAntim dEhi, paramEshwara, karunayA”

A humble request to pancha bhootams to tone down the fury. It was presented in Keeravani. HNB’s return was more soothing than MBs AlApana. Though the RTP is short for 25 minutes, it was a fitting reply by MBs to rain affected people.

Needs special mention here -GKM’s mridhangam was singing this song, Malladi duo just performed supporting service. Such a wonderful experience.

RTP- They dedicated this pallavi for those affected by the recent floods.

Ravikumar’s voice was not co-operating well. May be previous days concert had taken a heavy toll.
He could not even proceed well in Sbrm rAga l and Sreeram Prasad finished that.

GKM’s tani along with Ganjira vidwan was spell bounding.

HN Basker has become integral part of almost all concerts. Yesterday, along with Abhishek raguram, he created such a havoc and today, his shankarabharanam and keeravani was soulfully sweet.

A wonderful concert. Again, KRM was the main pull for me to attend this concert. Dont remember listening to the Malladi-KRM combo before. Both KRM and Amrit were outstanding all along. Though KRM's vAdhyam was playing traunt for a while, it kind of settled down just before Shankarabharanam.

And one could see what an outstanding artiste Amrit is. Such gifted fingers on the kanjira, the years of tutelage under the great Harishankar was evident in each and every stroke he played. From what i saw, KRM is playing one more concert this season for Mysore Bros' violin duet at Krishna Gana sabha, which is also in my hit list.

Oh. I don't know Amrit is the disciple of Harishankar. I wanted to write a special para for him. I forgot. He was brilliant. Giving equal "fight" for KRM.
Pattamma can tell more about Amrit as he played with Manoj siva for Ramakrishna murthy at MA yesterday !
