An higher voltage Abishek Raghuram ‘s concert threatened by power (sound?) problem both at the beginning of the concert and at the climax (main krithi) kept the artists and the rasikas including from Down under (Mrs Malathi Vasudevan-Hamilton, New Zealand
)under tenter hook.
Amazing high pitched voice, can manoeuvre high octavo to low base with ease,quick fire flowing swaras and brilliant alapanas were his child’s play and today’s concert has all the ingredients of above. The evening was dominated with Tyagaraja krithis
The nerval sAreku sangIta naigama pAranagatuDaina parama pAvana (Dharbar) was awesome
Mysore Srikanth violin was just brilliant to match the wizard excepting for the blip where his rhythm was threatened by power problem. Anantha R. Krishnan has become part and parcel of this team and his “Thani” was extraordinary.

Sir, I fully appreciate your sentiments.
Just wanted to share the difference between tenter and tender hooks. One is all steel and likely slip. The other is all soft and a strong grip.

I was at the previous concert at this venue, that of Sherthalai K N Renganatha Sarma.

As my friend said, I decided that I should retain the memory of that pristine music before any hijinks could begin so I left the auditorium.

I seem to be making a habit of this. I did the same thing last year too.

I echo your thoughts. Somehow its difficult to sit thru a concert of this young maestro without getting an urge to look at the time. He is brilliant no doubt but i'm not interested in the brilliance. I just want a couple of hrs of soothing music and i did not get that in this particular concert. Its just too jerky and I'm not the the one who enjoys roller coaster too much
