Amrutha and team rendered a sedate and soulful concert at Shri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, this morning. The team co-ordinated extremely well, orchestered skilfully by Amrutha. Here is the songlist
1. Thulasidala: Mayamalavagowla: Adi: Thyagaraja
2. Ninnusevinchina: YadhukulaKhambodi:Subbaraya Shastri: Misra Chapu:
3. Neevalla Guna Doshamemi:Kapi:Adi: Thyagaraja
4. Meenakshi Memudham: Poorvikalyani: Adi: Dikshidar
5. Saagara Sayana Vibho: Bhagesri: Adi: M D Ramanathan
6. Dheem tananana: Brindavanasaranga:Tillana: Balamurali Krishna
The yadukula khamboji song was divine, extolling Parthasarathi. The raga elaboration, the song and the swara Kalpana were rendered with poise with perfect swara suddam, and evoked a sense bliss in the listeners. The kapi piece was rendered with great care and attention to detail, it was wonderful. Then came the lovely chiselled poorvikalyani raga alapana, abounding with mellifluous sancharas. Meenakshi memudam was rendered to perfection, with neraval swaram rendered at Madura puri nilaye. What a grand rendition it was, with the vocal, violin and percussionists giving their best.
Saagara sayana Vibho, did justice to the grand composition, followed by a brisk and beautiful rendition of Dr Balmurali Krishna’s Tillana in Brindavani.

Another memorable performance.
"Tulasidala mula" began with "Santhoshamuga poojinchu" and carried the element of joy right through the kriti until the climactic and soulful "Dharanilokka paryayamu". The vilamba kala swaras in Ninnu sevinchi was a lengthy extrapolation of the chittaswaras and brought the languid mood of the raga to the fore. There was a 2nd speed swaraprasthara for contrast. Kapi swaras were torrential burst and the two Gas of Kapi shone like well cut diamonds.
A different side of Carnatic Music tastefully revealed.
