Attended the second half of the concert as I had come to attend the next evening II concert of Abhishek . few observations

+ Pallavi was well done . Hamsadhwani ragam and taanam was clean , possibly few more sangathis to get out of their comfort zone would have better

++ Pallavi amaippu on Lord Ganesha was good . The two ragamaligas varamu by Shanmughapriya and lalit by Haripriya was lovely. I particularly liked the lalit a lot , there was a lot of ornamentations in both M1 and M2 showcasing dwi madhyama ragaswaroopam. IIRC they sang the same lalit ragamaliga their 2014 mudhra concert. I appreciate musicians bringing in emotive HM ragas like lalit , slowly and steadily it will reach a darbAri status.

+ Percussion team did well and they sacrificed their time for the pallavi . pallavi usually does not touch beyond 30 or 35 minutes .But they giving that time indeed was better as pallavi was showcased better

- Shanmughapriya voice was very unsettling most of the time- only in varamu she did well . Certainly power was missing in shanmughapriya voice and with it the raga bhavam was not aurally satisfying as there was more entropy.

+ ahir bhairav is a very emotive and catchy raga .It is difficult in general to spot any mediocre sangathis . Their sketch of padhyam (telugu viruththam) was nice and the song was for the mass appeal .

- Ragas like todi in kalpanaswaram can have more intense carnatic gamakam . Haripriya could have sung better there

- I listened to Kharaharapriya only from the second half of neraval .Just okay there, it was not a majestic main at all.

I am told they sang a rare papanasam sivan mohanam krithi before KHP. I donot have an idea on what they sang before my entry into hall. Someone can fill up the rest of what i missed.

I almost forgot how V V Srinivasa rao played the alapana . But in ragamaliga it was not that clean in shruthi suddham.

Overall very good concert.

Lots of breath control issues sometimes sounding as if they were laughing out aloud.
