I did not stay all day, but I can say that T V Ramprasad's concert was excellent, as was Mohan's family's hospitality and the lunch

Mohan is based, in UK. near to the place where I grew up. His son goes to school in the town of my birth.

Mohan,
Last year in spite of torrential rains, some of us were there, and I'm glad Nick (and S) and others from Rasiks.org were present this year too. I would have been there had I been in Chennai. Well, you knew about our skipping Chennai well in advance, our being fellow travelers on the London-Bengaluru flight! It was great to have your company on board

So good to hear that GBL's day was filled with music, and that family and friends were gathered to celebrate sweet and kind GBL in a fitting way...

Great to hear your concert series Sorry for not making it - I am tied up with few domestic work for the last five days.

Thanks Arasi madam. It was a pleasant surprise and a pleasure to have your company in the BA flight.

The event was fantastic, with very high quality music right from TV Ramprasadh's outstanding opening concert (featuring a touching DhanyAsi MInalOchana and beautiful dvi-raga RTP in Amritavarshini and Anandabhairavi), Manasa Suresh's immaculately planned short concert with a beautiful latAngi, also featuring very soulful kApi and sindhu bhairavi, a brilliant bhAvam laden GRS Murthy's vInai concert (featuring a beautiful nAsikAbUshani and HEmavati), soulful bhajans of Swati Venkatraman, and the top class grand finale of sOnali Sinha-Biswas, featuring the appropriately presented evening rAga Multani among others.

We were delighted to see family and friends as well as distinguished members from the music and dance communities, (Prof. CV Chandrasekhar, Sriram Gangadharan, Gayathri Girish, Indira Kadambi, TV Ramprasadh, Vijayalakshmi Subramaniam, R Suryaprakash).

The venue needs a special mention. It brings "Margazhi Raga" feel with the artistes being only a few metres from the audience, yet with sufficient open space for nearly 100 people, The management of the mikes and sound system by Ramesh, who is well known in Chennai carnatic music circuit, who himself is very knowledgeable CM fan, reinforced the listening pleasure.

Just as I was amazed to talk, in Chennai, to a youngster who knows about my old school, which was founded, including 14-yr-old me, in its current wonderful building and grounds in the year that his father was born

Mohan, glad to hear the memorial concerts were a grand success, and I'm sorry I wasn't in the country to attend. Thank you for making the recordings available!
