N Harish gave a very good concert today between 5:30pm and 7pm.
But audience strength was very poor. He has a fine voice, good bhava and good vidwath also. From the way he sang I felt he could be Vijay Siva's student. If anyone knows, please confirm that.
Sadabala roopapi slokam - hamsadwani.
Janaki Ramana - Sudhdha Seemantini - T swaras at raktha nalina dala. Just okay presentation.
Sriranjani alap - Ini oru kanam - swaras @ pallavi. P. Sivan. Good presentation.
Yeddayya Gati - Chalanattai- Koteeswara Iyer. Very good presentation but for a slight slip towards the end.
Main Kalyani - Nidhi Chala Sukhama - T - Neraval and swarams @ mamatha bandhana. Slightly overdone. By this time the next concert artistes had arrived but still Harish did not economise and wind up. He sang several rounds of neraval and also excessive swaras. He sang well but in the situation all felt bit tiresome.
At the end he requested the secretary to sing one more song. But it was not allowed. So he closed but could not hide his disappointment. Anyways he is a good vocalist. Roopa Rajagopal was violinist . She played extremely well and worked to raise the concert to great heights.

Mridangam - can't recollect name

Excellent concert. Concert started at 7 and ended at 9. Sizeable Audience of around 50 arrived by then. Around 25 stayed till the end.
Sri Mahaganapathi ravathumaam - Gowlai - MD swarams @ prakasha karo
He announced that today being Thiruvadirai, they will render Siva compositions.
Abhogi alap - Sabhapatikku - GKB. Neraval and swaras at Oru Daram Siva. The Abhogi alaap was just for about 4 minutes but out of this world. Made my day.
Sevikka Vendum Ayya - Andholika - Muthu THandavar??
Manaviyalakinchara - Nalinakanthi - Swarams - Not so good.
RTP - Simhendramadhyamam - Tillai Ambala Nataraja, Dayanidhe. Swarams in S'Madyamam, Sama (MC - total bliss), Ananda Bhairavi (Bharati - v good), Pantuvarali (MC), Desh (Bharati - Awesome and fully of melody).
Eppo Varuvaro - I dislike this song but they played well. GKB-Jonpuri. This was a tad slower than the irksome MMI bani.
English Note. Not so good.
Vaazhiyar Senthamizh - Madyamavati.
Overall a very good concert by MC and team. But he tried to sing along in between. But I felt it was better when he played. Bharati was very good too. Tani was elaborate and good.

Thanks for the confirmation rajeshnat. If indeed he is Vijay Siva's student, then I have much much more expectations from him. Now that you mention I can recollect the resemblance of the siblings. But somehow it did not strike me yesterday.
