BIG doubt

Post by natyasri »

I was listening to some of Madurai R Muralidharan's pushpanjali composition. They do not have any slokas. nor any specific reference to any dieties in any manner. its just raga and jathis.
hence, my doubt is, what qualifies to be called a pushpanjali. same could be for alaripu, but in case of alaripu, i can make out by the way the sollukattu is.
what are the characteristics of a pushpanjali for a composition to be called the same.

Please let me know. thank you.
