Walked in when mAtE was in progress.
Though there was no RTP, a substantial concert. SankarAbharaNam was detailed, and the kriti, Emi nEramu, not oft heard, was pleasing to the ear. Neraval at dIna bandhu.
Vittal Rangan is blossoming as a future star violinist.
Mrudangist Krishna (haven't heard him before) and ace ghatam artist (women's pride in percussion playing) Sukanya Ramgopal enhanced the concert no end.
Telugu and sanskrit items dominated, one PD, hindi bhajan and earlier, a lone kriti in tamizh at the start of PS. Wish the Madurai-based professor had sung another one in tamizh, and also a malayALam one since he hails from Kerala!
Was very happy to meet you, Chellappa
Looked round for others, but missed spotting you, Jayan
ranjani_malavi, I couldn't meet you because I don't know what you look like

Krishna is the brother of kalavathy avadhoot, son of bangalore venkatram, a ghatam artist from bangalore (regularly seen during my growing up years). He is an engineer by profession.
