My observation
As expected the ticketed concert of 2 Hrs 30 mts was very good not following the standard Kutcheri format. .
Kanjira and Gatam artistes were in the front on stage.
Singer was a little behind with mirudangam on his right and violinist on left
Two thambura players were at the back .
Behind the artistes on both sides were digital advertisement banners of sponsors numbering 16 making the back ground more colorful and glaring. Whenever a song is played the relevant deity would appear on the screen. A novel arrangement. But When one of the Rasikas complained, Krishna wanted him to refer to the organisers and mentioned if switched off will be a relief for him too as well. In general 90 mts went off pleasantly.

Thanks Thanjavooran for the coverage of the concert.

Could not help notice that a TMK review did not provoke comments on the format, his attempts at cheap pubilicity etc. May be we are all tired or we have reached the natural state of 'new normal' at least as far as TMK is concerned. May be that is a good thing. We can focus on talking about the actual performance itself.

The chosen ragas are awesome from my personal point of view. Given the time given to each of the ragas, I am sure they did full justice to them.

Appropo the renewed discussion on Vector and Scalar ragas in another thread and TMK's known affection for vector as opposed to scalar, it is my little hobby to see if TMK resorts to any scalar ragas in his concerts. It looks like he is sticking to what he preaches.

Thunga theera viharam started in Salaga Bhairavi and moved into Yamuna kalyani. Nicely done!

Percussion team was excellent with Melakkaveri Balaji, Guruprasad and Anirudh Athreya, esp. Guruprasad who gave some inspired ornamentation.

While the majority of artistes and rasikas disagree with TMK on most things; both sides seem to have a consensus on the importance of lyrics!!
