Thanks bharathi. I saw your post just as I was leaving for work and listening to these made my hour long commute such an enjoyable time!

Fantastic singing. Given her focus on enunciating the lyrics properly and sharply, the pada varnam sounded that much better especially listening to her sing the last charana passage.

The yadukula kamboji padavaram was rendered beautifully. One of the verses in the charanam gave me a lump in the throat - so moving the way she sung it.

I feel Vid. Amrutha Venkatesh is redefining quietly the concept of female vocal music. She comes up with amazing strings of creative phrases that would normally be heard only from masters like Mandolin Shrinivas and expert vainikas. She has an absolutely effortless delivery style with "no sweat" across octaves. She emotes the lyrics like no one else and she has the luxury of being able to smile all the time (not needing to squeeze out the music out of herself). Her voice throw defies standard definitions of how a voice is to be used in CM. But then she is going beyond where BMK went.
Really an artiste worth listening to ANY TIME.

I was fortunate to attend the referred concert. Apart from what bharathi has posted the other items were:
Paahi shoure Nattai
Vande sada Padmanabham Paras ( This is different from the more popular composition starting with the same words and sung in Navarasa Kannada)
Maamava Karunaya Shanmukhapriya (Main piece of the concert, the Behag piece being the sub-main)
Sreesa Padmanabha paahi Khamas
Krishna Chandra Sindhubhairavi
Aliveni Kurinji

She sings in a unhurried approach seldom seen in concerts by the new comers bringing Soukyam to our ears.A totally refreshing approach and can sing to bring out the lyrics very clearly.

Her sowkyam also includes liveliness. Music flows out of her effortlessly.

Such a welcome change from seeing a few vidushis straining their voices because they are reluctant to bring down their Srutis.

Yes, indeed. I really like her voice, her rendering: matching the timbre of the voice to the lyrics is indeed a pleasure to auditory system.

Amrutha is a star! I'm seeing such a great crop of talented youngsters in the Carnatic scene- Some of the recordings by teenagers on IndianRaga Labs(youtube channel) will have you spellbound. I'm very positive about the future of Carnatic Music. Crop led by Sanjay, TMK, Ra-Ga, Malladi and now Abhishek, RK Murthy, Akkarai, Charumathi Raghuraman, HN Smitha, Amrutha-- all very talented twenty somethings;
Recently somebody shared a teenager Kriti Bhat singing Gati Neevani in Thodi; she is a teenage virtuoso. I'm very upbeat now...Sit tight--We will get to listen to some fabulous music in the years ahead!

How many aLivENis we have heard! KVN's classy one topping them all...

Amrutha V gives it a fresh look--sweet and with surprising turns. Her seamless singing, with the 'padmanAbha' sung in one delectable breath without splitting the word is so appealing.

A fine artiste she is...:)

Palaya Madhava has been very well rendered by Amrita, setting a new standard for Asaaveri. She has maintained the kaalapramaanam throughout for all songs which is something laudable. In Madhavaa (jonpuri )she has sung all sangatis brilliantly.

Indeed arasi. I listened to this rendition back to back a few times. In one listen, I noticed how she took more than a minute to savor 'loka sundaram' ( starting at 5:25 ).

btw, It looks like her tour of U.S. is on. I see her scheduled at Sruthi, Philadelphia for March 19th 2016
