169th Aradhana of Sadguru thyagabrahmam was performed by Thrimoorthi Sangeetha Sabha(Aasthika Samajam, Polichalur) Pozhichalur(TSS) on March 26 and 27 in a grand manner.
on afternoon of 26th March, local musicians sang Sadguru's kirthanees from 2 pm and in the evening Kathiramangalam Shri Ganesan & party gave a wonderful Sangeetha Upanyasam on Thyagaraja Ramayanam" - he gave a very authentic and interesting facts of link to ragas and Sadguru's keerthanas and placement of such keerthanas in Ramayana. Well received by the rasikas.
on 27th March, Sadguru's vigraham along with Sri Rama and Sita was taken in a procession with Unchavrutti to TSS and abhishekam was performed with Vedic chanting by rithviks. children group singing of Sadguru's keertanas followed this and at about 9.30 am, eminent vidwans like Smt Bhagyalakshmi Suresh, Varalakshmi Anandkumar, Uma Subramaniam, Rajeswari, G abhilash, etc accompanied on violin by Trivellore Parthasarathy and M S Kannan (son of well known mrudangist Kalaimamani late Madurai Sreenivasan) and on mrudangam by Manikudi Sri Chandrasekar and Rajiv Nagarajan, etc. this was followed by deeparadanai and distribution of mahaprasadam.
in the evening, Hemmige S Prashanth (disciple of Palghat KVN and Smt Padma Narayanaswami) gave a special concert on Thyagaraja keertanas, accompanied on violin by Mullaivasan Sri chandramouli and on mrudangam by NC Bharadwaj (Umayalpuram University). his reetigowlai (nannu vidachi) and thodi (ninnu vina sukhamu). Hemmige Prashant has a great potential to glow in the Carnatic music world and has a vast future before him. rasikas enjoyed his concert well.
the events ended with Anjeneya utsavam. This is the 15th aradhana being conducted by TSS/ASP.
