Sumitra Nitin hails from an intense musical family. Her uncle is V V Sadagopan was very multifaceted . She is also related to jayalakshmi santhanam and her cousin is a big akkA Arasi. Her mother is Sujatha vijayaraghavan who writes and speaks brilliantly about music. Sumitra Nitin also is a bharatanatyam dancer.

Few mistakes in my previous post , Sumitra Nitin's mother-Sujatha Vijayaraghavan and Arasi are only cousins . That automatically means Sumitra Nitin's grand uncle is V V Sadagopan. Possibly both mother and daughter (Sujatha and Sumitra) are calling arasi as akkA .

I also forgot to mention that Sumitra was nurtured in music by her grandmother Anantalakshmi Sadagopan.
