I am sure most of Rasikas and learning Rasikas would often slip in identifying some raagas. It becomes even harder when the perfomer plays around without introducing all the key phrases .
I stumped upon this video where some students take a test from Prince Rama verma. He plays 73 ragams for approximately 10 sec , in quick succession. The reason for 73 is nothing but that is what he could jot down in a piece of paper. The shruti box is loud enough and he plays only the raaga essence to avoid ambiguity. It would be interesting to know how many Ragas can us rasikas make out. At the end, we can know , by show of numbers , how many are the easiest for a common listener and how many are really escaping . Better not to rewind to have a feel akin to those students. Keep a paper and pen handy and here is it.
The first link is an intro by prince rama varma on how the test goes

Just loved the way he talks to the children.
A stuffed penguin to the winner! Endearing!

Wow. Which were the ones you missed? Rohini, vakulabharanam, lavangi, ... ?
I got 54, but realised I could have got 60 on a better day..
