Badari,
What a concert! What a miss on my part
Ravikiran is Ravikiran. His ChitravINA IS the chitravINA. As I started reading the list, I said, 'husEni'! Then varALi...
Electrifying moments as you say, they surely would have been. Classicism personified, playing the essence, Ravikiran is Ravikiran. He stands alone.
Charulatha has been as busy playing, as you have been reviewing the concerts! She's a pro, and there is no doubt about it. Every time she plays, that's what comes to mind.
We will miss your torrent of reviews, but we know they will keep coming every now and then. Meanwhile, your family and workplace need more of your time, at least until the next series of concerts begin

badari
bravo , it was such a joy to read your review in the most cm happening city during april-may. You say "PS: Season review coming up shortly" , I am assuming that will be on the lines of "rama navami bangalore season - best of best 2016" or some thing like that-oops maybe i have already put the title of your next post.
I appreciate all the time that you have taken to come back and write about every concert.

By the way I have also seen about 6 to 7 reviews from badari's senior kpjayan in his blog https://kpjayan.wordpress.com/
Looks in the last few days of concerts bangalore had also had few freebie jalatarangam concert as basins and vessels took up regular rain drops.

KU Jayachandra Rao is a very great Mridangam player without doubt. He keeps the volume well balanced. He asked the sound man to reduce the volume as soon as Thani was over.N Amrith played with great harmony keeping in mind the role of UpaPakavadyam.
What a great contrast it was when majority of the concerts had imbalance and Mridangam was dominating.
To my mind in today's concert circuit Manoj Siva,KV Prasad,Jayachandra Rao,J Vaidyanathan ,Arun Prakash and may be a few more give soft percussion support needed.
N Ravikiran is a model on the stage who checks with audience regarding Sound Management.
I had requested for Thaye yesoda and it was a great treat once he announced the song.

Badari Sir, Good work in posting the reports/reviews on SRMNMF-2016. Except for the reports and one review, The Hindu, Bengaluru edition did not publish reviews of concerts. I am not aware of the other publications.
I attended the concert under review. I agree with you that CNR's this performance was not A-Capella concert. His experience stood by him to perform, a good concert.
Very first set of rasikas were CNR's accompaniments-CR;KUJ;NA, in deep appreciation and respect for the pure and pristine quality of music. Vidu.CR should not only faithfully present CNR's music but also present her creativity-manodharma aspects, to inspire and motivate CNR to reach higher states in manodharma. Vid.KUJ's kalapramana in tani was on quicker side over the standard. CNR accepted Rasika's requests-(5) to (8), (8) was requested by Vid.NM. I had requested for a rarely taken up beutiful composition 'Dhyaname Varamaina'-Dhanyasi-Thyagaraja by email and he advised me to remind him at the venue and he would certainly oblige. I chose not to remind him.
I was happy that Shri HNB attended this concert. I did not meet any other forumites, including you.

Badari Sir,
It was typographical error. It is Vid.NA (N.Amrith) not Vid.NM.
