It's called Dharambir tanpura.
Here's the link:http://www.dharambir.com/indian-classic ... softwares/
Direct windows download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6634048/Music%2 ... %201.0.zip
This site has several other apps as well which all are very nice.
Is it any good for carnatic music as the website is aimed at hindustani music primarily?
A really good free tanpura

Sir, I was misled by the topic heading into thinking that some large-hearted and deep-pocketed soul was home-delivering that stringed wooden instrument of shiny looks and vibrant sounds incomparably superior to any bit-and- byte gadget or two-bit app. Well well well.

Haha sorry for getting your hopes up but that is not the case with this one. Still it's a really nice tanpura and I've never seen a better free app so I decided to share it.Rsachi wrote:Sir, I was misled by the topic heading into thinking that some large-hearted and deep-pocketed soul was home-delivering that stringed wooden instrument of shiny looks and vibrant sounds incomparably superior to any bit-and- byte gadget or two-bit app. Well well well.
