Lakshmanji: why was the concert so heavy with tamizh pieces? Not complaining- just wondering if there was a reason!

This is the first time hearing about trivandrum balaji composing a pallavi.
Ravi
I am assuming bulk of rasikas would have been srilanka tamilians and the sabha is bharathi kalai manram

I don't think there was a reason for the abundance of Tamil krtis. Also the assumption that the bulk of rasikas would have been Srilankan tamilans is also not correct but the audience was much smaller than normal.

Thanks for the list, Lakshman...As can be expected, many KVN numbers.
Balaji, a composer is a pleasant surprise.
I suppose a majority of tamizh songs just happened--just as in some concerts, mostly T's kritis sung does not
mean it's a tyAgarAja utsava.
Poochi's tillAnA starts as tAnOm tanata tiranA??
