CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS AND WISH THEM A FLOURISHING CAREER IN MUSIC AHEAD.

Aiswarya Sankar and Ramana Balachandar- I know them personally very well and they richly deserve these awards. I sincerely wish the organisers will take note of these hugely talented artistes and offer them platform, so that we all will get ample opportunites to savour their high quality music.

Congratulations to all the winners! Best wishes to them and also to the other young participants (one contest doesn't judge their abilities) for a bright future in music...

One of the concerts I heard was Chi. Ramana's - a big thanks to the person who posted the link - he is simply awesome IMO! I just love the way he sings along at just the 'right' time. Reminds me of Smt. Kalpagam so much.

Congratulations to him, and all the other winners! It must have been very tough to judge, going by what I heard - most of them were of a very high caliber!

It was indeed an amazing event. The winners and in fact most of the other participants richly deserve appreciation. They have all put in years of practice and their performances in this KFAC event was ample proof of the same.

Special mention should be made of the 3 judges who sat through the 14 concerts held in just 4 days. Needless to say that it requires a lot of concentration to evaluate highly talented young artists. Hats off to Vidwan S.Shankar, Vidwan. KV Prasad, Vidushi Manda Sudha Rani.

It was repeatedly mentioned by the judges as well as important dignitaries who attended the festival that this was a "Unique" event and such an event is not held anywhere else. I guess that this uniqueness attributed is due to the featuring of 10 sabhas coming together as KFAC, Exclusive Festival to showcase youth music, 45 young artists' participation, a healthy competitive spirit working in the background in all concerts, free entry and so on.

There was definitely a lot of all round happiness and cheerfulness throughout the period.

Bengaluru, Karnataka is getting to be carnatic music's capitol too, these days!

The Kalavanta annual event happens because many sabhAs get together as one and conduct this event with one goal--to encourage young talent. They are big and smaller sabhas, near and far--and the office holders put aside their egos and superior airs if any in this effort, and make it happen. May this continue, and catch on too, in other states :)

Through this initiative, Bengaluru has the potential to become the "Youth capital" for Fine Arts - yes, quite a distance to cover, but the destination is clear !!

All the concerts were enjoyable and the sense of youth energy was on display in good measure - even among the young at heart :) Kalavanta concerts for the last 3 years ( 42 in all of 1.5 hours each) are available for all to enjoy @ www.youtube.com/kalavanta

A most enjoyable sight at Kalavanta was the bonhomie and informal chatter amongst the various young vidwans, both this-time performers and old-timers. The Malleswaram venue became a hub for these talents for a few days. Thanks, organisers.
