Concert of the S. Aishwarya - Bhairavi Sabha - 19th June - Pondicherry

Post by Kaarthik »

'Great granddaughters of the legend M. S. Subbulakshmi'
S. Aishwarya - Vocal
S. Saundharya - Vocal support
Pudhuvai Thanigachalam - Violin
S. Govindarajan - Mridhangam

It was a nostalgic moment for all of us at the Bhairavi Sabha the moment we started listening to the concert of Aishwarya as she comes from the lineage of one of the greatest musicians of all time MS Amma. She was ably supported by her younger sister Saundharya on the additional vocals and by Shri Thanigachalam on violin and by Shri Govindarajan on Mridhangam.

The concert was seamless and the team performance was very good. There were many a glimpse of the legendary singer's trait seen throughout the concert specifically during the renditions of 'Rangapura vihara' and 'Kurai ondrum illai'.

We wish all the very best to Aishwarya and Saundharya and their team to perform in more such concerts.

Regards,
Veenai Kaarthik.

Thanks,Kaartik.

Surely, at least one of our two friends from Rasikas (PB-s) attended? I do hope so. Were G_M and any other Puduvai residents who are members of Rasikas.org present??

Her north american tour was a tremendous experience for Aishwarya. I'm sure she has gained a lot more by giving so many concerts in a row here...

The concert was seamless and the team performance was very good. The concert started off with a brisk 'Maathe' tharu varnam in Khamas followed by a subtle 'Theradhiyagaradha' in gowlipantu. Then came the song 'Sarasaksha' in Pantuvarali where she sang a good alapana of raga with neraval and short kalpana swaram. Her main performance of the concert was 'Sarojadhala netri' in Sankarabharanam where she sang elaborate alapana of the raga and we saw good support from the violinist in the same. She rendered the song in madhyama kaala with neraval and elaborate kalpana swaram and kuraippu followed by a beautiful thani aavarthanam by Shri Govindarajan on Mridhangam.

There were many a glimpse of the legendary singer's trait seen throughout the concert specifically during the renditions of 'Rangapura vihara' and 'Kurai ondrum illai'.

SA & SS sisters will make a good combination with understanding. Dhana Dhanyo is my favorite.
