Sruti and voice

Post by kvchellappa »

Dr. Mohan Kamesawaran (ENT specialist) in Thuglak:
Three things that affect the voice are: speaking loudly; speaking unnecessarily and singing at the wrong pitch. Some singers increase the sruti. It will affect their voice over time. We must sing in the sruti that naturally suits our voice. I give this advice to singers who consult me.

Possibly, he would advise individuals who consult him. A top ranking vocalist also consults him. This interview was not about music.
