Request someone to post the meaning of the song also.
Is it Kayagi Kaniaagi or Kayadu Kaniyagi - i think it is sung as the former.
The Hamsadwani version of this song sung by MLV and her school is very sweet and beautiful - request meaning for the lyrics please
Thanks and Regards
Harish

Harishankar, EDITED based on PB's post:
tAyAgi tandaiyumAi tAnguginRa deivam |
The Lord (deivam) who supports (tAnguginra) (us) by becoming (Agi) (our) mother (tAy) and father as well (tandaiyumAi) |
tannigarillAda tanit-talaimai deivam |
The Lord who is nonpareil (tannigarillAda) as a unique (tani) leader (talaimai) |
vAyAra vAzhttuginROr manat-tamarnda deivam |
The Lord who takes up residence (amarnda) in the hearts (manam) of those that praise (vAzhttuginROr) him to their heart's/mouth's content (vAyAra) |
malaraDi en cennimishai vaitta perum deivam |
The mighty (perum) Lord who has placed (vaitta) his flower-like feet (malaraDi) atop (mishai) my (en) head (cenni) |
kAyAdu kaniyAgik-kalandinikkum deivam |
The Lord who is sweet to taste (kalandinikkum) by becoming (Agi) a ripe fruit (kani) [1] without ever having been an unripe one (kAyAdu) |
karuNai nidhi deivam muTRum kATTuvikkum deivam |
The Lord who is the repository (nidhi) of compassion (karuNai), the Lord that reveals (KATTuvikkum) the end (muTRum) [2] |
shEyAga enai vaLarkkum deivamahA deivam |
The supreme (mahA) Lord that is bringing me up (ennai vaLarkkum) as (Aga) (his) child (shEy) |
cir-sabhaiyil ADuginra deivamadE deivam ||
That (adE) is the Lord that is dancing (ADuginra) in hall of tillai (cirsabhaiyil) [3] ||

FOOTNOTES
[1] This is a profoundly philosophical statement, and I am not sure I have got to the core of what being said here – it may mean that Siva is the fruit (the phala) of all activities, without necessarily having been the cause
[2] muTRum can mean the end, the entirety, the fruit of one's actions, or, alternatively, it could refer to eternal space (the Lord in tillai is in the form of space – AkASa lingam)
[3] cirsabhai or citsabhai is also the hall (sabhai) of one's consciousness (cit)

A few corrections:-

malaraDi cennimishai - malaraDi en cennimishai
shEyAghavenai - shEyAga enai
viLanguginra - ADuginRa
deivamidE - deivamadE

A suggestion:
Name of the composer (vaLLalAr rAmalinga aDigaL) may be added in the title, after rAgam and tALam.

PB, great find, thank you so much. Reading it the way it was meant to makes a world of difference. Based on your post, I have edited my earlier post (#4).
I hope you, or others like Arasi, Rajani, Sridhar or Keerthi or anyone else better than I am, can step in and correct misinterpretations, if any.

Great translation as usual, Ravi.

I think it is used in the sense of "entirety" only...one of Lord Siva's eN guNangaL is "muTRum unardal" which the dictionary shows to mean "being omniscient"

The eN guNam list, from (in Tamil script): http://www.tamilkalanjiyam.com/literatu ... _ex16.html

tan vayattanAdal
tUya uDambinanAdal
iyaRkai uNarvinan Adal
muRRum uNardal
iyalbAgavE pASangaLininRu nIngudal
pEraruL uDaimai
muDivilA ARRal uDaimai
varambilA inbam uDaimai

Requires one to have a solid grounding in Saiva siddhAntam to understand these fully, I would guess.

This sung was excellently rendered by Smt MSS in Simhendramadhyamam in her concerts.
