Heard first two compositions - my first reaction is why is there not higher volume set for the toppi. An artiste from a school that celebrates that sound is not audible in that primal sound - this has been the case always I think. If his preference is to play low - the house volume should be our prerogative shouldn't it?
if he plans to increase at his moment of choosing and we are afraid that would cause a boom - then I guess we need to figure out a dynamic response arrangement of some sort?
For his style of playing to stick - which by itself I don't have a problem with - he needs to be more emphatic - that is another story.
One of the most flow conscious artiste is not audible ( especially in the male Sruti - opportunity lost!) and great compositions are being rendered so nicely. I don't know what is the point with this?
avar manasilE ninaittAl pOdumA - nAngalum ariya vENdAmA? ( is it enough for him to conceive things is his mind ? - don't we have to know what it is?)
