Appears to be a good program. I will try to watch it live Saturday morning here in Florida. Most Kalakendra programs will be available for a few more days on line, for those who missed the live streaming.

I am watching the program and hope more "rasikas" are also watching the program.
Ambujuam Krishna's son Suresh gave an introduction in chaste Thamizh about his mother and her compositions, while her daughter talked about the program in English and Tamil.

Sundara Rajan,
Glad that you watched it. I missed Suresh Krishna's speech :( (experienced initial streaming trouble, but had no trouble at all with the streaming after that). Heard Radha Parthasarathy speak, saw SK Vedavalli receiving the Sixth volume of Geetha Mala from Suresh Krishna (a lot of emotion there, because of her association with AK from a very early age).

Anita Guha's choreography has impressed me a lot, in spite of my being an ignoramus about that art form--but as a pAmara rasikA, I have enjoyed watching her productions year after year at Cleveland.

Ravi, did you watch?

Wonder if others are going to chime in with their impressions...

Will join in again...

I watched and enjoyed every minute of the marvelous program. The choreography was outstanding and the dancers did a superb job of "abhinaya". The introductory explanations provided before each item was very informative.

Arasi & other "rasikas": I find that the program is still available as of 11:00 p.m.EDT Saturday 9/10/2016 and you should be able to catch up with what you missed. Please do not miss this good program.

Sundara Rajan,
I watched all the three hours of it as it was streamed, as you did. Agree with you. An impressive dance presentation. Commentary was excellent too. Anita Guha, we have seen her in action at Cleveland and have witnessed the quality of her choreography. Her students have to be commended too. Costumes (the daSAvatArA ones in particular) were great. Another plus in her productions.

The singing and the orchestra, an asset. Wish they had a female singer as well for some of the items (are we spoilt by several star singers singing at each dance presentation at Cleveland?) :)

Finally, this may be a personal thing, but I have to say it. I do wish some of the lyrics were not just sung once, but were repeated to make us savor them more. Also, wish more of her lyrics had been brought into the program, with the feeling which she conveyed with them. The latter part of the program made me happy on that count though. Azhagar and AnDAL took care of that :) I remember how each trip to a kshEtrA was to her an exciting journey. A song was born during or soon after each of them :)

Still, dance is dance, and has to be presented with the other aspects to it than just with lyrics alone, I guess...

Thanks to the family for arranging a program like this in fond memory of their dear mother...
