I remember another one of his "speeches" during a Lec Dem on Appreciating Laya by Ghatam Karik.

LEC DEM by Ghatam Karthick on Appreciating Laya. Srimushnam walks on to the stage about 1:09:45 in to the video.

The word "uncouth" comes to mind.

Caught up with this concert - Sankari Sankuru is a good execution all round. Sri Raja Rao's exhuberant ( but mild) enhancements makes it more relishing. Lot of that majesty in getting in and out and cross beats. Good to see next gen bolstered by senior accompanists like him.

Sounds like a kappi Mridangam. Good tone.. but he has tendency to intersperse too much vallinam in his playing... There are lot of young generation that seems to have good strength on layam - it would be nice of him to switch to more mellinam ( even in tIrmAnams ) - in his legacy years!!
